First a word about kilncast glass, and what it is, and what it can be.
Glass artists are notorious for tampering with Mother Nature. Invention and innovation are the name of the game. Kilncast glass is a major player in the "what's new" department. Kilncast glass could be called "homemade." It's cooked up in the studio kiln...the one that used to be used for the almost extinct "stained glass." It CAN produce colors and textures that cannot be achieved any other way. The results are limited by chemistry and know-how, AND by how much glass one can afford to toss if it doesn't stick together in the end.

I don't use "fuse-rated" materials from glass manufacturers....which is guaranteed to stick together...and is very limited in texture.... and is pretty much limited in color effects. But 90% of today's glass studios use that stuff. It's a bottom line issue. I've invested enough time in self-education to make these totally unique pieces of glass worth while.

Pieces of kilncast glass (each one is made individually) are the most versatile of all glass possibilities. Since they are at least 1/4 inch thick they can fill large areas without internal support. A huge architectural plus.

Who wants to look at a neighbor's ugly retaining wall? Most commercial & inexpensive solutions tend to look just like that....cheap and commercial.

How about reasonable and beautiful?
This novel design is a guaranteed smile. Heavily textured iridized clears let in plenty of light. Kilncast pieces add color, uniqueness, and plenty of interest.
